Some clowns are terrified of going out in their white greasepaint and makeup as they say they risk being arrested by police or attacked by mobs who take to the street in so-called Clown Hunts. The sinister trend, which began in America and quickly spread to Europe, sees internet pranksters wearing grotesque clown outfits terrorise passerby before posting the footage on social media.
